Gift Entry Template

The Gift Entry Template is used with Quick Gift Entry to streamline gift entry by displaying only those fields that apply to a certain group of gifts that are being entered at the same time.

The template designer is very similar to the Customizing Page Layouts tab that appears on the Admin tab. The difference is that you can create any number of templates for Quick Gift Entry, each with a different name and purpose. These templates are saved and can be used again as needed, and users do not need administrative rights to create them. In contrast, you can create only on custom page layout for the Advanced Gift entry screen. This layout also applies to the Gift tab in the Bio screen and is set by your administrator for the entire organization.

To create a new Gift Entry Template, do the following:

  1. Open the Quick Gift Entry tab from the Gift Navigator.
  2. Click on Create Template.
    1. The Gift Entry Template screen appears.
  3. Enter a name for this template.
  4. Drag fields that you do not wish to display or use in the template to the Do Not Show column.
  5. Rearrange fields by dragging them from one column to another or up and down in the same column.
    1. Note that the fields that appear in Column 3 are tied to the Gift Method selected. Each group of fields only appears if the corresponding method of payment is selected.
  6. For any fields that are required, click on the Req. check box.
    1. If a field is checked as Required, the user cannot save the gift unless something is entered in that field.
  7. Click on Save to save the template.
  8. Close the window using the X in the upper right hand corner.
