Adding Gifts to Grant Payment History

When you receive a payment for an incoming grant, you record that payment against the grant. This helps you track the outstanding payments due on grants that you have received. If you want these payments also to appear in the giving history of the grant maker, you can transfer the payment to the list of gifts.

You can also accomplish this by first adding the payment as a gift and then transferring the gift to the payment history for the grant. To do this, do the following steps:

  1. When the grant payment is received, add it as a gift.
  2. Open the Grants Manager, Grant Payments tab.
  3. Select the grant payment you want to mark as paid by the gift. Note that you have to have entered a grant payment to link to the gift.
  4. Click on Link Existing Gift to Grant Payment
  5. Select the gift from the giving history list for the grant maker.
  6. Click on Link Gift to Grant Payment.
  7. Click on OK to confirm.

The grant payment is now linked to the gift record.
