Online Transactions Overview
Transactions that are created online, such as donations, event registrations, membership dues, or guest requests, automatically appear in ExceedFurther as soon as they are processed online. These transactions are found in the list of new transactions in the Online Transaction screen. You access this screen from the Online Transaction option in the Navigator.
When these transactions come into ExceedFurther, they first appear in the New Transactions list. There is a New Transaction list for each type of online transaction: gifts, memberships, event registrations, guest requests, and volunteer applications. Before the transactions are added to donor or guest records, you have the opportunity to review them and determine if they represent a new constituent or they represent a transaction that should be added to an existing household or organization.
The steps to move these transactions from the New Transactions lists into your ExceedFurther records are as follows:
- Select the type of transactions to review (Gifts, Membership, Events, Volunteer, or Guest Requests)
- Open the New Transactions tab.
- Scroll through the transactions to see if there are some that should be immediately rejected or perhaps cleaned up a bit to correct misspellings.
- Run the Automatic Match process to check for duplicates. This separates the transactions into three lists:
- Matched - these transactions will be added to an existing record.
- No Match - these transactions will create new households or organizations.
- Potential Matches - these might possibly match an existing record but require you to decide.
- Go through the Potential Matches list to match up those records or move them back to the New Transactions list.
- Return to the No Match tab to import the new households and organizations, along with their transactions.
- Open the Matched tab to import transactions to existing households and organizations.
