Volunteer Manager Project Tab

A volunteer project can be used to group together a number of related jobs into one project for purposes of scheduling and tracking the work. A project can also be used as a placeholder for a future activity that might be undertaken only when you have identified a group of volunteers who are looking for a project to work on.

The Project sub tab of the Volunteer Manager lists all of the projects that you have defined. You use the Project Scheduler window to define the projects, add jobs and tasks, set up schedules and assign volunteers.

You can use the buttons at the top of the Project sub tab to view all projects, only active projects, or only closed projects. In addition, you can configure the list to show the columns you need, the sort order and any filtering of the list.

The Project sub tab has the following buttons:

  1. Add - to add a new project description. This opens the Project Scheduler window at Step 1, Add Project.
  2. Edit - to make changes to an existing project description. This opens the Project Scheduler window at Step 2, Edit Project.
  3. Delete - to delete a project description. Click on this to delete a project. Projects that have been scheduled cannot be deleted. Set the status to "Closed" instead.
  4. Set Up Schedule - to link jobs to a project, set up a schedule, and assign volunteers. This opens the Project Scheduler window at Step 5.
  5. Close or Make Active - to change the status of an active project to a closed project and vice versa.
