Gift Manager Gifts Tab
The Gifts tab displays a list of gifts, dues, sales, pledges and pledge payments, each with the donor name and details about the gift. If you are using the Grants Manager for incoming grants, grants and grant payments also display in the list.
There are several choices at the top of the list that determine what gifts are included.
- Gift Type - use the check boxes to select the types of gifts to show in the list. When you open the Gifts tab the first time, all of the check boxes are selected. If you narrow down the choices, your selection is remembered the next time you open the tab. However, you can change these choices at any time.
- Date - you also select the date range of gifts to display. You can use the Gift Entry Date, which is the actual date the gift was entered into ExceedFurther, or you can use the Gift Date, which is the date you entered into the Date field on the gift entry form. Select either Gift Entry Date or Gift Date from the drop down list and then select the date range from the drop down list of dates. This list is a shortcut to assist you in choosing your range. You can also simply type in dates in the two date fields.
After you have selected the gift types and date range, click on the Go button to refresh the list of gifts.
If you wish to filter the list further, open the criteria by clicking on the word Filters at the top. Select from the available criteria or use the Advanced Filter. Click on Go to refresh the list.
You can view the filter criteria at the top of the Filters area. To see a more detailed version, position your mouse over the list of criteria.
The Gifts tab includes the following buttons:
- Add - this takes you to the Add Gift window where you select the donor and add the gift details.
- Edit - this takes you to the edit gift window where you can make changes to the gift you have selected from the list. You can edit only one gift at a time.
- Update Selected - if you have used the check boxes in the list to select several gifts, you can make changes to all of these at the same time. The Update Selected button allows you to update the following fields:
- Campaign - select a campaign to change the campaign code assigned to the select gifts.

Batch code - select a code from the list. This replaces the batch code assigned to these gifts to the one you have selected and adds the gifts to the new batch. - Reason - select a reason code to change the reason assigned to the selected gifts.

Acknowledgment Letter - select the letter you wish to use to acknowledge all of the selected gifts. -
Acknowledgment Date - enter the date the acknowledgment was sent for these gifts. -
Mark as Acknowledged - this marks all of the selected gifts as acknowledged. -
Mark as Notified - this applies to gifts that are tributes, and it indicates that the family or other people attached to the tribute name have been notified that a gift has been given in tribute. - Update Primary Tribute - select a new tribute code for this gift.
- Change Solicitor - select a new solicitor or solicitors for this gift. Note that when you add a new gift, solicitor choices may be limited, depending on the parameters of the gift. For example, if the gift is part of a campaign, you are only offered the solicitors who are part of that campaign. When you use Update Selected, these rules no long apply since you are selecting multiple gifts to update and they may not all have the same parameters.
- Add Note - add a new note to these gifts. When you add a note, it is appended in front of any notes that might already be attached to the selected gifts.
- Acknowledge - this creates acknowledgment letters for all of the selected gifts.
- Receipt - this creates receipts for all of the selected gifts.
- Notify - this is used to generate letters to relatives or other people attached to a tribute name.
- Delete - this deletes all selected gifts.
WARNING: Gifts are permanently deleted. Make sure you have selected the gifts you wish to delete.
